Alcohol calories and fat loss?

i've heard alcohol calories digest differently? do you think if i skipped a few meals and only had lite beer or vodka and diet as sort of a modified fast i would burn more stored fat because of the associated reduced insulin response and increased lipolytic response, which reduces the reabsorption of free fatty acids while inhibiting de novo lipogenesis from the reduced amount of digestible carbohydrates consumed?

I give myself room for alcohol but I always just count them as plain calories.
I've heard whisperings about alcohol metabolizing differently but I'm no expert.
I'm nearly to goal and have indulged on weekends for what it's worth. Or Wednesdays. Or Fridays.0 -
Alcohol isn't digested. It's directly absorbed into the bloodstream. Because it cannot be stored in cells, it has be thoroughly metabolized. While this is going it, it's the ONLY source of energy. Carb and fat energy are inhibited while alcohol is in the system.

I think if you are skipping meals so you can drink, you have a deeper problem than just worrying about burning calories.0

Ditto. My cousin often skips meals and drinks instead. He is thin, but he also is in end stage liver failure, is constantly bleeding internally, and looks 20 years older than he is. I wouldn't recommend it.
