So... Phytic acid..... Do any foods prevent this from stealing your body's nutrients?

I know grains, seeds, legumes and nuts have phytic acid, which can mess with the body's ability to absorb nutrients... But bananas, asparagus and other foods promote nutrient absorbtion! Does one outweigh the other?

Phytic acid is found in many foods other than grains, seeds, legumes and nuts. Soaking and cooking decreases it. These foods are not to be feared. There is absolutely nothing showing that eating them leads to nutrient deficiencies. Quite the opposite actually.

Stick with a diet rich in variety and consisting primarily of whole, minimally processed foods and you won't have an issue.
