Green Smoothies/Shakes?

I'm thinking of incorporating green shakes into my diet as a meal replacement for breakfast or lunch. I would get a juicer and make them myself. I've heard the produce to do this gets quit costly though. I've never done this before so im just curious if any of you do it, how often, and what do you all put on it?

Have you ever done it for extended period of time? (No solid foods)
