A brief bio and my specific concerns.

(THIS POST IS A WORK IN PROGRESS - had to save it before I could finish)

Hello all. I've been using MFP for about a week and am pretty happy with it so far. I am a bit frustrated, though, that of all the times I've searched for "fitness trackers" and similar things, I don't recall EVER finding this site. :-( I was primarily looking for an online source that would allow me to easily track my workouts, measurements, goals, and so on. I wasn't originally that concerned about tracking what I eat, but it's so easy with MFP that I'm taking advantage of it. I also wanted a site without really irritating pop-up ads. It's not the ads I mind, but the ones that would appear right while I was trying to log data.

Anyway, about me: I'm 49, female, 5'0", 142 pounds, in generally good health, but my weight has slowly increased over the past 10 or so years, while my energy level and general mental attitude about my body has gone the other way. I've also found myself stuck with the "stubborn middle-aged belly fat" problem. In the past when I've gotten a bit overweight, it was because I'd slacked off the regular exercise and got into bad eating habits; once I rectified those, I was fine. But not anymore. Starting the beginning of April 2 I began doing 3-45 minutes cardio a day (either brisk walking or cycling)

Will be interesting to hear the rest. By the way, in the future you could compose your post and save it in your email as a draft, or on Google Drive on in a notebook program. When you are done you would copy and paste it on the site.

That's what I plan to do. :-) I would have done that before, except I thought I'd have time to finish my post. But something unexpected came up. So back to it!
