My name is Jackie. To be honest, Ill admit Im lazy, and I love junk food. Unfortunately that has been my downfall for sooooooo long that now Im reaching for straws at something that will finally turn me around. I look back at how I used to be and get mad because I let myself go...again. I exercise for a week, get SLIGHTLY healthy, feel kind of OKish, then celebrate by getting lazy and eat like crap. I know, it makes no sense but that's my cycle. I have used MFP before but have never posted anything on a board, or group, or any other hidden gem for that matter. I figure, everything I have done up to this point is obviously not working for me...so I thought Id try a different route and get a little more social so that if nothing else, accountability will get me going. So kudos to you all on all of your journeys and I hope to make it to the finish line this time as well!

I've had a few MFP "false-starts" before too (with a similar-sounding pattern...lol). This time seems better now that I've gotten more involved in the communities, encouraging others on, etc. Feel free to add me as a friend if you would like.
Good luck on your journey! You can do it!0 -
I sent you a friend request. The thing about weight loss is until you quit for good you haven't quit. Another trick I've learned is to not allow one bad day to be the justification for staying off the wagon. One bad day is not going to make much difference in a month, or months, or years of calorie deficit. You have to keep getting back on the wagon. Shoot for hitting your calorie goal every day. Remember that even if you go over your goal a little bit you are probably still hitting a deficit for the day.
Try at all costs to avoid the mindset of "well, I blew it today, so I'm going to just eat what I want until next week".0 -
Thanks for the advice y'all. I should have a banner in my house with my health journey's past motto. "Quit now and forever hold your peace." But it's a new day for a real change. Not a half a** one. Im not getting any younger and Im definitely not getting any healthier. I won't say that everyday will be sprinkles and rainbows and that by the time my sugar cravings kick in Ill want to throw my hands up and say to heck with this. But if I just take baby steps this time instead of trying to jump in with both feet, I may actually get somewhere.0
