As I am 65yrs and fairly sedentary I have set my own goals as 1000cals a day with the ratio carbs 125g/protein75g/fat22g but looking at my reports overall I am nearly always over on the fat content can anyone give me any tips on this subject for an easy rule of thumb solution? :o

You have your calories and your fat set too low. What are your stats? (Height/weight?)

Too low. MFP has a minimum of 1200 calories.

Calories too low. Also, consider fat a minimum (about .3g per pound of your weight, if I remember right).

You can adjust the ratios in MFP to customize better, if you like.

Increase your calorie goal to 1400. :) You will still lose weight and you will be able to eat more fat.

That's too low. Are you weighing all your food with a food scale? If not, you may be eating more than you think. Also, you can treat fat and protein as minimums. You can exceed these. They are satiating macros.

Take 9 grams off the carbs and add 4 g to the fat. Repeat until it works for you or carbs get to 20g.
