sp I have a chronic condition and I'm supposed to consume as much sodium as I can take, up to 10 grams a day! Problem is, I am having a hard time getting this sodium in a way that does not hinder my weight loss and healthy eating goals...
So question is, anyone know of different food/drinks that I can use to increase my sodium intake? My doctor is a specialist but not very helpful other than suggesting to add salt to food and drink lots of sports drink (but then you have to watch the sugar)

sodium has nothing to do with your weight loss other than water retention...sodium has zip to do with fat loss.

anyway; eat pickles, drink pickle brine, eat jerky, drink a regular V8, put hot sauce on stuff, etc

Thank you. I know sodium doesn't effect weight loss... I just meant that it seems a lot of foods that are higher in sodium tend to not be the best foods to eat.

Canned soups/broths have a whole BUNCH of sodium in them. You could also look at stuff like cottage cheese, or soy sauce.

like what specifically...I only ask because people tend to have a relatively narrow view of "healthy"

also, what peachyfuzzle said...canned soups for sure and cottage cheese. I dump soy sauce all over everything after a long ride to help me get the sodium back that I lost sweating.

Anything in a can! Canned tomatoes are pretty yummy and can be used in a lot of different recipes. I'm a vegetarian and I find a lot of meat substitutes are high in sodium and a lot are also pretty low calorie, if that's a concern.
I took tracking sodium off my diary because it just didn't matter to me, but I am almost ALWAYS over on sodium. I added it back if you want to check out some of my high sodium foods hah.
