How many calories per day should I be eating?

I was eating about 1500, more on the weekends if I went out somewhere, but it doesn't seem like the weight was dropping off. I have been working out 3x a week for an hour doing weight lifting and cardio. Sometimes working out more, at minimum the 3 times a week workout. It definitely seems like I have more muscle now, but I haven't been losing a lot of weight, only about 10 pounds in the past 8 months. I weigh 205 now and really want to get to onederland ASAP since I can see the light at the end of the tunnel haha Any advice? Does it really not matter to count anything besides calories? I read Mark's Daily Apple, which suggested under 100 carbs to really lose weight, but I have trouble with that being a sugar addict. I've been eating way less of it, mostly fruit now. What's worked for you guys? Thanks!

Unless you have a medical reason for tracking sugar, there's no reason to do so.

The amount you should eat will vary, in significant part, by your height, weight, and activity level. Based on what you've said about your weight and activity, I might suggest upping the calories closer to 1800 for a month just to see what happens. Since you're also concerned with body recomp (per your mention of weight training and having more muscle), make sure you're getting enough protein.

    Just my unprofessional two cents.
