My schedule lately is very hectic and hard to predict so I thought if I had the cds at home it would help so I can work it in. Not looking to drop 10lbs in 21 days interested in the cds.

I did P90X3 just because the 30 minute workouts fit into my schedule. If you don't want to spend the money, you can probably find comparable workouts on fitness blender. To be honest, there's only a handful of Beachbody videos that I go back to frequently, so unless you really like the workout, I would probably opt for something cheaper.

I'm on day# 17 and really like the 21 Day Fix Extreme DVDs. There's a 21DFx group here where users post their results and opinions on the workouts.

I think the workouts are good. I like having them in my library.

I prefer Youtube videos; they're free. 21 Day Fix and other programs are gimmicky and overpriced. Blogilates has a lot of good workouts, and you can find a variety of other fitness gurus/ online programs through the search feature.

Edit: I'll also add that I did 30 Day Shred when I found some of the workouts on Youtube a few years ago. I liked it at first, but it gets redundant and boring after a while doing the same workouts over and over again. I lost motivation because I was bored of the program.

My friend is doing 21 Day Fix and loves it. Personally, I really like Fitness Blender. It's free, and I really like the trainers.

On day 22 you start another round if you'd like to continue. It's called the 21 Day Fix because it's based on the psychological principle that it takes 21 days to start a new habit/break a bad habit, not because some magic happens only in 21 days and then you go back to bad eating.

Nothing gimmicky about it. The exercises are great and really work. The nutrition plan is based on clean eating and portion control. It's a great product overall if you like structure in your workouts and/or nutrition plan (i do).

Happy to answer any questions you have on the program here or feel free to message me. Good luck!

You start the 21 day cycle over if needed.

Then why not just make it a 42 day fix?
The 21 days has a routine that is done on specific days in order to alternate types of exercise, etc. At the end of 21 days, you have completed the specified routine.

No it's not backwards progression at all. There are 7 DVD workouts and you repeat them each week, so you're not going back to the beginning on day 22, you're just continuing, or starting another round if you'd like to look at it that way.

It's not remotely gimmicky. The program doesn't make any ridiculous claims. Not every diet "program" is gimmicky. I think you're reading too much into the title and not understanding what it's based on or knowing anything about the plan. Seems a little foolish to disparage a program you don't know anything about.

And the bad habits that need to be fixed are whatever caused the user to purchase the program - overeating, lack of exercise, not knowing proper nutrition, etc. Obviously nothing is "fixed" for life after 21 days, that's up to the individual. But you can get in an awesome new routine in 21 days.

We understand the plan. A quick google search and their website explains everything out.
It's a gimmick with overpriced DVDs and tupperware.

She's talking about getting the videos because the workouts will fit in her schedule, not doing the entire plan. She literally mentions the CDs twice in the OP.

Probably and I remember being skeptical about the Tupperware but it's not a terrible way to learn portions. Could do the same with gladware etc.

But if the fitness plan isn't CRAZY, ie dangerous, who cares, if it works for people. Jillian Michaels got me started and I'm grateful.

Btw for me any plan marketed to people over 30 that has plyo in it is dangerous, does this have plyo?

And MFP isn't gimmicky? It's a tool just like MFP. And a lot of people have great success on it. And after 21 days, you can do whatever you want. You don't self implode. MFP is no different at all ... Just a tool. However MFP can lead to some disordered eating if you become obsessed with it. It's a gateway to eating disorders if not used wisely. As for 21 day fix, some people really thrive with a structured weight loss template. And MFP is that, too. Sorry if these things don't work for you. There are some great programs out there.

It seems as if there is a sticking point on the idea of 21 days. The 21 days to form a habit is woo and based on just a particular surgeon's experiences. Actual studies (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/ejsp.674/abstract) show far longer time is required.

Given that, if you get a good workout and it fits your schedule then do it. Anything is better than nothing (assuming it isn't dangerous [see previous comments]).

I'm embarrassed to say that I purchased this program a few months ago, never used the DVDs, but love the "Tupperware" containers that came with the program! I use them all the time. I just don't have time for a formal exercise program right now but all is not lost, I think my 20 year old fit daughter is going to use the DVDs! Lol.
