What will I do to train for the 1st Phorm Summer Smash Mud Run next month?

PS the poster is compiled of the poster from their website (bottom half) and the pictures of me. I am not actually on their poster, I just felt like making the collage to write about pullups/chipups.

I will just keep doing what I'm doing already.

One day I just discovered I could do pullups and chinups.

Lifting weights with a balanced all body female workout enabled me to do pullups and chinups. I didn't even know I could do them until after about a year after getting back into weight lifting and losing body fat.

I was working out with a friend and whipped out a bunch after a workout one time and discovered I could. That was about 4 years ago and about a year after I lost 85 pounds.

Mainly your performance improves if you ditch the excess weight if you were overweight like I was and lift weights with a good all body program.

You don't have to do a bunch of cardio to lose weight. That is actually the biggest mistake women make trying to lose fat. Believe me I was miss marathon and ultra marathon chick while packing on the pounds over the years. It actually hinders fat loss for females.

A little low intensity steady state cardio is okay, say 20-30 minutes or HIIT, but put the weight lifting in first place.

Focus on the calorie deficit and weight lifting. Don't count the exercise burn when you have excess fat - that is mostly only a concern for lean athletes.

If you want to do long endurance events, ditch the excess fat first, build your strength while you do it, then get back to endurance training for longer events (with better performance even if you are in mid life like I am).

It will be fun to just go to the 5k mud run next month and see how I do. I'm just gonna go have FUN! <3B)
