hey so back in 2012 I started to lost weight I need to big time as I hit 17st 10 anyways fast forward 3 and a half years I have lost and kept off just over 6 stone, which puts me in the overweight category of bmi I want to weight 10st in the end, so for the last year I have been playing with a half stone I'm still running once a week and eating healthy and logging but any ideas what I can do to help me finally reach goal?

You need to eat less calories than you burn. If you are going with the calorie counting approach, you need to measure your calories consistently and accurately with a food scale.

Once you have that step down, you need to chart your progress by weighing yourself at the same time and under the same conditions every day. You also should track your progress by taking measurements of your body with a tape measure. Using those tools, you need to look at your progress over three weeks or more. If you're not seeing the progress you want, then you need to make a larger calorie deficit by exercising more or eating less calories.

Maybe you'd be interested in running (walking, swimming, cardio class, walk the dog, biking, ect...) 2-3 times a week. I've found that doing something 3-5 times a week helps balance my eating and active muscles burn calories even during recovery time.

If I'm running (active), I'm not eating. And if I'm running, I'm more likely to feel in control of my eating.

A food scale is a good start. Introduce smoothies with protein powder. They are a treat for me and guilt free calories. Eat clean-er. Watch hidden sugar and fats. Remember it's a process and take change in stages. Find support. Stay connected to your goals.

Maybe journal and identify challenges/goals/accomplishments. I found a guided training journal "Believe" that's been helpful. I got off track about 6 months ago when my son tried to kill himself. I was doing amazingly well with my diet until then. I swore I wasn't going to let it side rail me, but it has. I'm just coming to that realization. So, don't chalk set backs up to failures.

    Good luck!

Congrats on the loss and maintenance.

If you are feeling ready to continue, maybe refocus by just setting out some goals again? I like combining weight goals with process things (like exercise X days per week, walk an additional X steps per day, log food, whatever helps you). Also, I have found it inspiring to set goals like a race or biking event or perhaps a distance to run/bike in a month or a strength goal to work on, depending on your particular interests.
