Are there any tips out there for staying within your goals when drunk/hung over? I typically go to a burgers and fries from a fast food place but I know that's not doing me any favors

I guess you are also not doing yourself any favors by getting drunk. Wouldn't those calories be better spent choosing healthy food to eat?0

Idk about food, when I'm hungover the thought or smell of food makes me want to puke. Drink water, though. Drink a bunch of water and Gatorade.

Or....they're an adult, and as long as they do not have an unhealthy relationship with alcohol, can drink if they want?

But... It's fun.
While drinking, avoid cocktails and shooters, stick to on the rocks or with added water. Diet soda, maybe.
And chug a bottle of water before you sleep. This helps avoid dehydration and a headache. And have a greasy meal if you wake up starving, just make sure you don't mess up your macros too bad for the rest of the day. We all deserve a Saturday night every now and then.0 -
Try keeping a thin crust pizza in your freezer for when you're hung over. It's quick to cook, low effort, and feels like an indulgence but for most thin crust pizzas even if you eat the whole thing you won't exceed 1000 calories. Obviously it's not ideal if you're on a diet, but if you aren't going to be eating much else that day other than the pizza then it's not too bad calorically. Keep in mind that if you're getting drunk enough to get hung over you probably blew yesterday's calorie goal by a large amount and if you need to eat greasy food the next day to feel better you're probably blowing that day's calorie goal too. Probably not worth it if you have 120 lb to lose (according to your profile). You don't have to cut out alcohol, just try to limit it.0

Hi mate, I know that my recommendation is more of a preventative method over a cure to get you out of the living hell your in now. But, take the herbal supplements Milk Thistle and the anti Oxidant NAC (google them for research or buy them off Amazon), and take before drinking. No Hangover and protects the Liver. Your Welcome.0

I usually can't eat much when I'm hungover. I try to drink as much water as possible but sometimes it makes me feel worse so I'll drink Gatorade. I also have to drink pickle juice.. Most people probably wouldn't like that but I like the taste of it and apparently it's even better than Gatorade. I do tend to go over my calorie goals when I'm hungover though if I can actually eat something. I just eat what I want and get back on track the next day!0

Tip: Don't let yourself get drunk. Drink moderately and know your limitations.0

Sometimes it is seriously the only thing that helps! The Hubster doesn't get why I keep empty jars of pickles in the fridge when I open a new one. But it's so good!0 -

Agree with this. Water before you sleep, gatorade (or even ORS) when you wake up.
For food, I usually just go with white bread and bananas to be easy on my stomach. Then I like to go for a short (10 min or so) run once my stomach calms a bit. Not sure if it actually helps, but sweating a little seems to do me good.

My fiancé loves to eat whole jars of pickles at a time so there is always at least one jar of juice in the fridge. I just don't like when he gets jars that aren't whole pickles and it leaves a bunch of seeds behind.

I am one of those people who, when hungover, wants to eat all the greasy food in sight
Problem is, it doesn't stop you feeling hungover. It may help for half an hour or so, but then you feel just as rotten again and you want to eat another burger to help alleviate that hungover feeling.
For me, i find knowing this, plus caffeine and a brief job followed by a shower usually helps. Plenty of protein (grilled chicken breast, not just cheese burgers!).
I also have a 'hangover food' which always helps sort me out; chicken and bacon mayo wrap from the Student Uni shop at the Uni campus i work just up the road from. It is produced by themselves rather than being a particular brand, and i don't know why but it always sorts me out. It doesn't have any nutritional value available, but i can tell by the amount of mayo it is probably pretty high. So i only ever have it when i'm hungover.
Also, i know i am going to go over my calorie allowance when i'm hungover, and as i stretch my calories over the week rather than day by day, i always plan when i'm getting drunk and where i can make up the extra calories eaten with more exercise.0
