how are these machines supposed to work? I saw an old one from the 50s/60s at a thrift store today and looked them up when I got home and found out that they still make them! Have you ever tried one? I was tempted to buy it just because I wanted to try it just for fun and it was only $15

They were supposed to jiggle the fat right off.
They were, and still are, a load of bunk.0 -
Sounds naughty to me.0

I thought that's what they were supposed to do. I was surprised to see that they still sell them new! They even make just a band that goes around you now without the giant machine. I still kind of want to buy it!0

Just sit on on an unbalanced washer during the spin cycle. With a companion if you have one.0 -
I remember those; the lady I used to babysit for had one. Yes, it was supposed to jiggle (while I I giggled) the fat off. It's was silly to watch. I can tell you it did not work.
A calorie deficit gets the fat off you, and exercise is a wonderful addition.0 -

I'm feeling nervous about the direction that this post could go in lol but a washer doesn't look as cool as having a weird, giant machine thing! It would have come home with me if I had my blazer to put it in!!

I definitely wouldn't except it to actually work lol but it would be an interesting thing to have!0 -
I'm sure people who use them do burn a few additional calories while they are using them, but probably not much more than what people burn using standup desks and sitting on exercise balls instead of desk chairs.0

Well I should have said, two months using MFP would put her right at target and THEN she wouldn't need that thing.0 -

Basically I feel like, if you buy really good quality booze, it will taste good as is. If it tastes gross with no mixer, try shelling out more for your booze. like say, Bushmill's, Jameson, Tullamore Dew for Irish whiskies, Kraken or Appleton rum, Stolichnaya or Luksusowa vodka, ummm.... let's see.... I'm forgetting one of my regular drinks. crap. what am I forgetting. dammit. Oh. For the gin, Bombay Sapphire.0

I've tried many types and brands of alcohol but I've never found anything that I can enjoy on its own. I like alcohol but I guess I just don't like the actual taste of it, just the effects of it lol i usually drink spiced rum now but I was able to go from mixing it with coke or Mountain Dew to using sprite zero or mio/water. I also like brandy old fashions but I have no idea what is in them! And being from Wisconsin, I like all beer but luckily I've been able to mostly cut that out.
But most of today's calories and the reason I went over for the first time in over 30 days was because of those terrible, wonderful bud light mixx tails (: but I am curious about this Appleton rum! I've never heard of it but I was born in a town named Appleton!!0 -
Those things been around for a long time, if they worked wouldn't everyone be using them???
Just like magical diet pills and shakes! I didn't think they even sold them still though! Why not though when people will spend money for anything that they think will make them lose weight fast!?
