Soy allergy

I was just diagnosed with a soy allergy. I'm reeling a little after doing some reading and realizing a lot of the foods I eat contain soy in one form or another.
I'd appreciate tips and/or advice from others with the same allergy. Friends always welcome, too!

The good news is that food labels are clearer than they used to be about soy. Stick with safe foods for now. As you get more comfortable about figuring this out, you will add more foods to your list of what you can eat.0

Start off by sticking with fresh vegetables, fruits, and meat. Then work in the processed foods you like as you verify if they're soy free or not.
As far as going out to eat, you're just going to have to research and put some faith in the restaurant staff to know their ingredients.0 -
Read, read, read your labels! You will be shocked just how many packaged foods have soy in them. Especially soy protein and soy lecithin. Soy oil is one that you are simply going to have to try. Some people have trouble, but a good number can have it without any sort of reaction.
I do not have an allergy to soy, but I do have a medical condition that is food sensitive and soy is one of the "OMG stay away!" items. It makes me very ill and I am in sheer agony if I take most soy in. I can have soy lecithin and soy oil though.0
