Losing motivation...

Hey MFP peeps...*
Before anyone start saying "She's not overweight!!!" and etc... I can't fit into 60% of my old clothes and I certainly do have a lot of excess fat on my stomach. My bone structure is small and light weighted as well.*
I'm 19 years old, a freshmen in university and am looking for more friends to keep me motivated and advices with losing weight... My fitness journey has been a crazy one... It was less than a year ago when I was extremely obsessed in working out with proper weight liftings, resistance trainings,, eating clean, and hardcore with everything(so i pretty much know the stuffies about being lean). I was at the leanest I could get back then. Then university started and because I had to study abroad, I pretty much gone through a lot of tough times personally and I just stopped exercising and start eating junk. My friends always held parties and etc.. it's just so hard to say no when you want to enjoy your social life at the same time.
I've gain so much weight-10 kg, and even today, I am struggling to put it off. I could not get my motivation back anymore; I'm just lost and depress and regret with how I ruinned my body because of stress. I went through the cycles of eating clean for 2 weeks and then gave up and came back to eating clean and gave up and it just do not get me anywhere. I am not consistent with working out nor eating clean anymore. I'm not logging everyday as well. Yet this is exam time for me and I'm already finding it hard mentally to workout and take time to cook clean meals at times like this. I'm both stressed about exams and maintaining a healthy lifestyle as well . Looking for motivating friend s xx
Ps. I know I probably get a lot of "NO EXCUSES" and stuff... but really, I can't push myself up anymore...

Don't worry about eating clean, all you need to do is eat less0

OP it seems like you've burnt yourself out.
It's exam time for me too (luckily I'm through the bulk of it). I know it gets tough, it's hard just to get things done... but I've always found getting to the gym really just lets me zone out. It's really something that lets me relax and have 'me-time'.
It really doesn't matter all that much if you don't 'eat clean' and endorse with some foods you're used to eating; it's good to eat stuff you enjoy. You can't deprive yourself, otherwise you're just going to spiral down wards.0 -
I used to have the mindset that if I couldn't go all-out, then it wasn't worth the trip to the gym. When things get crazy, I squeeze in whatever I can. If it's not a full workout, so be it. I'll set a timer and get up and do squats every 20 minutes. Or go for a 30 minute walk.
Cooking doesn't have to take a lot, either. I just microwave frozen veggies and scramble up some egg whites. Or microwave some other protein.
Don't build things up in your mind so that they become these BIG things you don't have time to do. Because they really can be little things that help move you along your way.0 -
I guess so... I think one of the reasons I've gained so much weight back is because my body was adapted to the amount of calories burnt before and when i stopped exercising... I just pack up the fats Hahaha I see... I really hate the gym here though, it's so packed! What I tried to do was do exercises in my flat instead... but it's annoying because sometimes that day I feel like I got the ball rolling for revision time ... I guess so, Id on't want to push myself too much anymore...
And to Psycgrrl, I see. I guess Imight ahve been paranoid and overthinking about eating... Thank you to everyone xx0 -

I agree with Psychgrrl. Food and mindset are important. I stopped going to gym ever since getting in third year of uni, so what i did was start walking instead of taking bus, then do at least 30mins of aerobic at home to maintain it. I lose 12kg after 6 months doing this and of course, quit supper! Just don't give up so easily, need to get your heart ready for it!0

You didn't "ruin" your body. And it doesn't matter what you eat, so bag the "clean" business. Eat at a deficit and move more. BOOM!0
