Currently I'm doing 3 sets of 4 on 180 kilos (397lbs). Slowly but surely increasing it. What about you? :)

I did...5 sets of 5...tired typo...should be 1 set 5 reps... at 135lbs today. I'll be trying 145lbs next time they come up (friday I think). I sat at 135lbs for awhile because of some skin being pinched in the palm of my hand. At first the pinch was so bad I would almost drop the bar. I didn't feel it today, so I'm going to try increasing now. I'm pretty new to lifting heavy (started in Feb).

My max is around 200. I did 7 reps at 170 today but feel I had one more in the tank.

You mean a little over 2x your body weight.

    And that's AWESOME.

People come in so many shapes and sizes. PR's don't make for much of a comparison; the raw numbers mean so little...

I think the more interesting number is just what you posted: how close is a person to deadlifting 1.5x their body weight? 2x their body weight? 2.5x?

I chased 1.5x for a year and finally got it. Now I'm closing in on 2x. A lot of it is due to cutting body fat. Body weight going down is just as effective at reaching that goal as the deadlift going up :)

Platform best is 167.5kg, at 82.2kg bodyweight.

Gym best is 160kg (yes, I pull better on the platform then in the gym)

I haven't tested it in over a year due to health issues, but I'm pretty sure I could pull 500+change just from my rep range at lower weight.

5 reps at 205. 189 lbs, female, lifting for 3 months.

Any tips on improving grip strength? I feel like I could pull more but I feel like the bar is slipping outta my hands. Already using a mixed grip for work sets.

Chalk, liquid or powder. Train your grip during other lifts (imagine you're trying to break the bar during bench press, etc). Farmer's walks.

I'm at 135 lbs, 2 sets of 8 reps doing stiff-legged deads. I weigh 120 lbs. Grip is already the biggest issue for me - small hands, short fingers, can't use my pinky fingers to assist/stabilize (makes a small difference, only a problem with deads). Annoying, because I know I could be moving a lot more weight if not for my grip.

    200 max @ 145 female.

Question: I've started ripping my calluses off (gross) during the lift, and my gym doesn't allow chalk or anything like that. Will gloves negatively affect my grip?
