Sudden Fatigue

Hi guys! My weight loss goal (that was approved by both a certified nutritionist and experienced trainer) is to lose 10 kilos overall in two months and a half. I am at 1200 calories per day. I am very active, I approximately work out for two to three hours per day, but most of my training is low intensity (yoga, piyo, easentrics)... Ive already lost 4 kilos iin 5 weeks while being full of energy, now my energy is very low at all times even though i even take vitamin supplements and eat very healthy. Any thoughts on why this sudden fatigue?

    Not eating enough most likely.

What is your current height/weight? It's entirely possible your calorie deficit at 1200/day is entirely too big and/or your rate of loss goal is too aggressive.

All your exercise could be catching up to you. This may be your body telling you to eat more or rest. Try one or both and see how you feel.

Sounds like you may have to eat more. Are you eating your exercise calories back? I wouldn't have any energy if I was working out 2-3 hours per day and only eating 1200 calories. I work out for 60 minutes a day, 5 days a week and eat 1800 calories a day, that said I'm losing .5 lbs a week which is exactly my weight loss goal.

With only 22 pounds to lose, it may be that setting such an aggressive goal isn't for you (I can't believe you got your nutritionist and trainer to sign off on that! Wait, yes I can, because there are more than enough quacks in both of those lines of work.) My advice? Eat more. I experienced extreme fatigue and ended up taking a two-week diet break where I ate at maintenance. That was the only solution for me. You might be able to up your MFP calories to lose .5 pounds a week.

In addition, I would eat at least half of the exercise calories back. Your body is telling you something.

This happened to me, too, when I first started. I had a nutritionist that explained to me that we tend to think "more is better" in terms of deficits, when actually the most effective/sustainable solution is to find a net calorie level that leaves you energetic and satisfied. When I first started, I picked 1200 cals/day because I wanted the quickest weight loss and MFP came back with that goal because 1200 cals/day is really the bare minimum you should eat (barring other problems/considerations/doctor approval/etc). Anyway, what that really means is that 1200 NET cals is the bare minimum - even if you're doing lower intensity stuff, you're probably still burning about 400-500 cals/day, which means you might be better off shooting for 1600-1700 cals/day. I had the same phenomenon at first, too - lots of energy, quick weight loss, etc, but if you're feeling fatigued and low energy, it's your body's natural way of telling you that you're running low on fuel. Try upping your calorie consumption a bit even though it seems counter intuitive, I know, to eat more.

OP - where are you in your menstrual cycle?

Assuming you are getting enough to eat in general, are you getting enough iron?

I eat 1220 a day but eat back my exercise calories and end up eating almost 1600 cals a day. There's no way I could be active on 1200 a day. I've lost 8 pounds in 6 weeks.
