Hamstring injury: ballet and pole

So...I do have a doctor's appointment next week (can't get in sooner unless I go to the ER or a patient-first type place).
I pulled my hamstring (badly) a couple weeks ago doing pole exercises. I did the splits and believe hyper-extended my hamstring on my decent down from the pole.
It was met with immediate pain to my "sits bones" area/rear end that radiates down the back of my leg to my knee. I can no longer do the splits or any stretches that involve extending that leg-not without severe pain.
Anyone else ever have a similar injury? Any advice on how to treat the pain? I'm still doing barre, jogging/walking, etc...I'm avoiding stretching that leg too much, first of all, because I can't and second because it hurts too badly and I don't want to make it worse.
I'm having my doctor take a look next week and he'll likely order tests...just wondered if anybody had ways they've treated injuries like this before that help with the pain. Considering icing it tonight

Best thing is rest ice compression. Try to not exercise for a week to rest tge area. Ice it with legs above heart level. Wear a compression short or legging to help swelling. Take Ibuprofen or another pain relief. Massage it with a ice bottle and a foam roller it will hurt very bad but it helps. Do not stretch this week. Week two try a little walking try light stretch ir yoga and resting it as much as possible. In meantime see a dr bc it could be a tirn ligament. Or worse.0

I hope you are seeing a real sports doctor. Do you want to see the same doctor that the Rockettes use? I think I have his name written down someplace.0
