Question about syncing and trackers

I accidentally wore my fitbit today when I rode my bike. I usually take it off and use Map My Ride for my biking exercise. Now MFP is not recognizing my ride. Is it because fitbit is overiding it with my "steps" since the timing was concurrent? Obviously I do not want to double count anything, but I would like to have my bike ride show in MFP for tracking purposes.

Yes, MFP is probably recognizing that you were using both trackers concurrently and is ignoring one of the two inputs.

Interesting though, that it's overriding MMR with your FitBit. For me, it usually does the opposite.

Okay - that is good to know for the future. I will just log my biking with 1 calorie manually in order to have it tracked in MFP. Thanks!

By the way, MFP just updated and did recognize the ride and subtracted from my fitbit calories burned. So, it sounds like it worked the way you described.

    Thanks!

No! Exercise syncs both ways between MFP & Fitbit, so exercise logged in MFP overwrites your Fitbit burn during that time. If you log your exercise in MFP for one calorie, then Fitbit will change your burn during that time to one calorie.

Connect MapMy to Fitbit, not MFP—and leave your Fitbit on.

If you want your Fitbit exercise to appear in your newsfeed, post it as a status update.
