Don't eat "diet" foods. Eat food you like, just be sure you're staying within your calorie goal every day. You'll be more successful in the long run if you eat the foods that makes you happy and that you're planning to eat at your goal weight; just eat less of them.

Now, if you are looking for lower calorie foods to incorporate into your diet (notice the difference in wording  ) try adding non-starchy vegetables, low-fat dairy products (cheese, Greek yogurt, etc.) and lean meats like chicken breast and fish.

Any food you like in moderation. The key is to eat less.

Eat foods that you like in portion sizes that fit in your goals.

Get plenty of fat, fiber, and protein to help with hunger and health.

Eat plenty of veggies for the micronutrients.

Fill in the rest with sweets and treats if you want them.

Food choices and meal planning are so personal depending on your goals, needs, and preferences. There are so many different ways that you can structure it. You can start by logging what you're eating now and make small changes.

I've been on a raw cauliflower, broccoli, and sliced cucumber snack kick. I mix up some balsamic vinegar, plain rice vinegar, mustard, and a shake of psyllium powder to thicken it up a bit and voila...super low calorie filling snack. It's REALLY easy for me to eat 100 calories of chips or crackers or popcorn and I am not even remotely full, and REALLY hard to eat 100 calories of cucumber or raw broccoli because it is so filling. So, it's my new snack this past week. Just my thoughts on low calorie snacks.
