@naxeea Pretty broad question. What are your goals? Cardio fitness? Strength training? A combination of both? There are a tons of programs that can be recommended for all those goals. We will all be happy to share what we do, however you will ultimately have to choose which one you enjoy and stick with for the long haul. In the beginning you may end up switching what you do until you find the right one for your time limits and tolerance level.

For now I am limited to riding in an attempt to regain some fitness during my long, long recovery process. In the past and when I am able to, I will return to StrongLifts 5x5 while continuing to ride.

    Good Luck!

I've made up a weekly schedule that I'm going to follow starting tomorrow. I get bored with exercise very easily so trying to do a different type of exercise each day. So one day I will go walking, the next a dumbbell workout, the next day swimming, yoga the next and a home workout of burpees, Mountainclimber etc the next. Full of good intentions now hopefully can see it through lol.

@DesertGunR I prefer Strength Training currently I am working out 3 days a week for 45 mins. It's been quite sometime since I have been following the same workout plan, just thinking of changing it.It focuses on lower body.I know there's no target fat lose but this program has helped me to tone a lot,so would like something for my lower body.

@naxeea Most of the good programs that are out there are whole body ones. They include compound lifts, because that involves the most major muscles and their stabilizers. These two are the most used that I know of Strong Curves and StrongLifts 5x5 are the easiest to follow. I like StrongLifts because it can take you from begin to Personal Records in strecgth without adding a ton of accessory exercises. Time needed is roughly 45 minutes and it has an app to help track your progress and get you through any place that you might get stuck on. When I say that SL 5x5 will work your legs, butt, glutes it will push them hard. By 12 or more weeks in you will be struggling to keep up. Through the use of fractional weights that to can be overcome. I think you will enjoy it.

I think that if you follow just a lower body workout in the end you will probably be disappointed in the overall results. Where if you follow a program designed to work your entire body, all the muscles from head to toe will be worked equally and give you an overall better aesthetic look.

    Good Luck!

I primarily cycle and do some weight lifting. I've followed a variety of lifting programs over the last few years...currently I'm working with a coach on my Oly lifts.

The best thing you could do is establish some actual fitness goals that have absolutely nothing to do with losing weight or burning calories or whatever...and then do what you need to do to accomplish those goals.

I personally like participating in endurance cycling events and racing cylocross...so I do things that make me better at that.

Half marathon training plan by coach Jenny Hadfield; also some lifting/resistance band work; my cross-training days are swimming, biking, hiking, tennis, walking, riding horse...whatever sounds fun.
