Pick however many you want and cook them

    Ie 2 ingredients

    Chicken
    Salt

    lightly salt chicken and grill.

    Done

In reality you should be eating as MANY different ingredients as you can the more diverse the diet the better and more well balanced

pick a protein and throw it on the grill...serve with a side of veg of your choice, cooked to your liking and a starch. 3 ingredients.

Tonight I'm having some grilled sauce with a jerk rub, sauteed greens, and a baked potato with sour cream and green onion.

    Keep things simple.

Salad dressing is a quick marinade for chicken that's going to be grilled. I usually use leftover Greek dressing from when we get Greek salads, but last night used Caesar.

Add some bagged salad mix and a starch and you're done.

Add another for protein, plus veg. I tend to skip the complex carb portion, but you can add that as well. You can go a long way with grilled chicken or beef, steamed fish, or grilled burgers. Add a twist of black pepper when cooking, to bring out the flavour. Add a large green salad (with a simple dressing - I use a splash of olive oil and a splash of balsamic vinegar) or a pile of steamed vegetables (with a bit of butter for flavour), and you've got a great, satisfying meal.

I'll leave others to suggest suitable complex carbs to go with.

Protein: Tuna steaks, grill about 8mins on each side
Carbs: Sweet potatoes baked in oven for about 30mins or until their soft
Veg: Broccoli cut into small pieces, boil for about 5mins.

I cook this in batch twice a week, doesn't take much effort.

    You don't need recipes.

Number of ingredients is not necessarily what makes cooking difficult/time consuming. And variety is good for health and taste buds.

Spending time in the kitchen is not necessarily bad. Neither is learning new skills.

As lot of people already have said, a dinner is simply protein, vegetable and starch. Choose whatever you like from the three categories - fresh, canned, dried or frozen, as few additives as possible - add salt, maybe pepper, heat accordingly, eat.

    Not overly complex.
