Free alternatives to running?

Hey guys, I usually do HIIT running (currently 30 second sprint/30 second walk x12) 5x a week but today I really hurt my leg to the point where it took twice as long to walk home as I was hobbling so much! It's much better now that I've stretched it out but can anyone suggest any alternatives whilst I recover, particularly HIIT? I say 'free' because I'm a uni student who can barely even afford rent and food, so things like swimming are out of the question right now haha. Thanks!
