Breastfeeding & Weight Loss?

Is anyone else breastfeeding and trying to lose? I remember the weight coming off quicker with my son (of course I was walking more back then). I'm nursing 2-month-old twins, doing T25, taking half-he long walks about 3 times a week, tracking steps with a Fitbit that is linked to MFP, and eating 1700 calories a day (with added calories earned from Fitbit). I lost 3 lbs last week and this week, I've gained! What the heck?!?

Weight loss is not linear. Some weeks you do everything right but maintain—or even gain. Others you lose a whole lot in a "whoosh." Just look for a downward trend.

Take measurements and progress photos, too. And have other metrics, like strength or endurance.

Also, a healthy, sustainable loss is .5 lb. per week for every 25 lbs. you're overweight. Last week's 3-lb. loss was mostly water.

The gain is likely water retention... exercise, salt, hormones, or engorgement (in this case, since BF), etc.

    Give it more time.

I have a 4 month old and EBF. My weight is usually all over the place.
