BUTT!! It has recently been brought to my attention by my husband that my workout pants are see through? (he tells me this when I get home from the gym yesterday, mind you I have been working out for over a year in the same brand of pants and he just now tells me this) WTH! Bottom line, my undies have been on display unknowingly for quite some time apparently! No Bueno! I did a search for this information but didn't really get the answer that I was looking for so anyone out there know of some good workout gear that won't show my milkshake to the yard. On a budget? Thanks in advance for your help

Awkward!
What kind of workout pants do you normally prefer? I really like the Under Armour leggings - I buy them from the clearance rack at the sporting goods store that the filter likes to censor.0 -
Look at the bright side--at least you were wearing undies! Next time check out your rear in the mirror. Alot of women don't do that, and it's a big mistake. We see alot of sights on the street in Italy. Best.0

They are censoring now! Wow. I'm a fan of Nike Legend and Old Navy. I only buy on sale at Marshalls and TJ Maxx for the Nike and Old Navy when they are running 40 off. I haven't had a problem and I tend to skip undies anyways. I have also seen Under Armour at Marshalls and TJ Maxx too. I pretty much only wear compression capris so absolutely no shaking. Lol.

I wear TekGear (from Kohl's) or C9 (Target.) I always get black and always wear black underneath.0

I wear underarmour, Lulu, or non-spandex type shorts.
My best tip of advice: find shorts/capris/pants you like, but do the squat test before buying them. Try them on in the fitting room and practice doing some ATG squats. You should be able to see your butt well enough to know if they will be see through or not. Also, after purchasing them, check them periodically. The more you use and wash shorts, the weaker the fabric gets. What might have been fine right after purchasing may be see through after a year of use and wash.0 -
There is also the odds that after a year, or more, of continual use that the material has gone past its useful life. The wear it and wash it cycle will eventually wear any fabric out. Even as a man, my cycling shorts do not last forever before they start to thin out.
Good Luck finding new workout gear.0 -

PICS OR IT DIDN'T HAPPEN!!0

Black undies my be a partial solution.
Lots of spandex washes out and gets a bit revealing.
My trainer had me wear 3/4 men's tights for leg day. I wear shorts over them
Women in tights seem to be much more pleasant a view than men.
Good luck on having less transparency !!0 -

I think how you care for it can also make a different. I wash in Woolite and hang dry everything. I've had most of my bottoms for over a year now and no issues. But I'm sure there is way more friction involved with cycling pants than normal gym wear.

Thank you all so much for the information. Much appreciated!

I see a lot of booties in the gym in pants that are more see-through than the wearer realizes. I always wear full bottom black panties just in case mine are that way too!0

I think that is a big part of the issue.
I have been known get my husband to do the sheer check.0 -
Old Navy! my compression shorts/capris from them. My favorite ones are 5 inch inseam and open-top concealed pouch. The only ones that were see through in the entire store (I tried on everything, no shame) were the light teal 3 inch inseam shorts with weird elastic waistband. Those showed the print in my striped underwear. When you go to the store, wear a print-patterned panty and literally crouch and stick your head between your legs to see your bent bum in the mirror. Standing and looking at your rear in the mirror won't simulate the look your hiney will have when you're squatting, running, stairmastering, etc.

If it is, I apologize, and I am addressing and fixing this problem STAT!

@VegasFit True, you've got to wash everything correctly. Cycling shorts wearing out for me tend to end in catastrophic release, so I keep an eye on them as I wash them. Same was the case for my rugby shorts. I learned a long time ago to wear compression shorts from TommieCopper or others as a preventative measure.0 -
Maybe it's just me, but I wear a longer shirt to cover my butt in case any sheerness goes on.0

Efffff... I've just arrived at the gym, and while changing in the locker room realized I packed light pink shorts and I'm wearing dark purple underwear.

Same thing happened to me but worse.....I don't wear any panties to the gym....So yeah, I had no idea they where see through when I was bent and squatting. Until one day I happened to be carrying my dog and squatted down to put her down and my husband was like, oh wow what a show! I had been wearing this pair of yoga pants at least twice a week for the past six months and nobody ever told me this was happening until my husband happened to notice!!
I bought a pair of under armour yoga pants and so far, so good! No peep shows! Lol! I ordered a pair of lulu lemon but haven't tested those yet. Hopefully you find a pair that works best for you but yeah, I've been there and it's super embarrassing!0 -
Jcpenney has its own line of fitness clothes Xersion. They're similar to C9, and when they do clearance the capris and pants will go for like $10. They last very well in the wash and have some pretty cool designs. Depending on your style they have some awesome tanks that go on sale for $6 also. I find the quality to be much better than old navy
. My top pick would be "90degree by reflex" but they're often expensive.0 -
I changed my profile pic to my workout tights for today
They are textured Nike Combat tights
But tights are super revealing on men and women.
I always wear shorts with mine. Some women don't wear shorts and it is easy to see under wear lines and color if the tights are light colored. But many are wearing tight low cut tops too. They seem to enjoy showing off the great body they worked so hard to get.
More power to them!
I don't want an outline of my junk on display, so I wear shorts.
Kind of have to pick your "visibility factor" accordingly!
