TLC for sore ankles?

My car was out of commission earlier this week, and I ended up doing 4.2 miles of walking in one day.
My body was not used to this amount of walking in one day, especially in 80 degree heat.
My ankles have been SUPER sore today (two days later), and they need some TLC. Any recommendations for some aftercare for angry ankles?

Are they just a little swollen, uniformly on both sides, with mild soreness that's the same on both sides? Rest, ice, and elevation. Comfortable shoes for walking. If they're a lot swollen or you can't bear weight on them or they're painful with movement or while standing or you have severe pain or one side is more painful/swollen than the other, go to urgent care.

Just mild soreness; no swelling. Definitely no ankle sprains/strains! I think it was just a ton of pressure on my feet that day, not to mention my routes had frequent incline. I do have a comfy pair of memory foam sneakers (so the balls and arches of my feet aren't sore). It's just some obvious discomfort when I'm walking or resting.
