    Hot coffee through a straw?

Isn't that a good point? Wouldn't a paper straw go soggy?
Can you still get plastic straws where you live?

Paper straws are worse for the environment than plastic...do you think we will go back to plastic?

How many holes does a straw have?

If you do need/want a straw, can't you opt for a reusable glass or metal straw?
Don't I have four of each? (Aren't the glass ones too thick to fit thru the hole in at least one of my tumbler lids)

Don't I have an aversion to metal straws after reading an article about a woman who died in a freak accident - stabbing herself with a metal straw affixed in the lid of a Mason jar?

Are reusable straws easy to clean on the inside?

Don't they come with a handy dandy cleaning brush?

What makes you think paper ones are environmentally worse than plastic ones??

Where I live plastic ones are no longer sold - so don't I think chances of going back to them are nil?

Didn't you read the recent scientific study that identified more harmful "forever" chemicals in paper straws then plastic ones? And aren't paper straws usually in plastic wrappers?

Aren't there a lot of 'may' and 'could' in those reports?

I haven't seen individually wrapped ones here, have you?

Didn't I read that study just the other day? Isn't it a shame that most single-use straws contain PFAs... and "animal studies suggest that an accumulation of these chemicals over time could cause a range of appalling side effects, including liver damage, a weakened immune system, underweight babies and even infant death"? Haven't I gone almost completely straw-less?

despite my previous facetious remark about simultaneous coffee and straws and typing - don't I not use straws at all myself?

But aren't there mentions of clapping in the bible, pre Roman times?

Didn't ancient Romans use finger snapping to show their approval of something?

Doesn't this mention the third century BC?

Didn't "...Jay Fisher, a classics professor at Yale University, date the custom to at least the third century B.C. "You see it at the end of a lot of plays by Plautus and Terence, where they have this word plaudite, which is an imperative [meaning] 'applause,' 'clap.'""?
Isn't that the same article that mentions finger snapping in the next paragraph?

Didnt they get rid of that?

Doesn’t that make as little sense ad removing the time stamps?

Isn't that one of the most annoying and pointless moves on MFP's part?
Will you accept my assurances, as an ex-programmer, that there is no advantage performance-wise in removing the time (as well as the day for prior year posts) from the datetime stamp?

Instead of giving us your assurances, can you just program it to have all the features we’ve been missing all this time, @frankwbrown ?

Since I recall none of those, does that qualify me as young? Or just a relative newcomer to this thread, having only started about a thousand pages back?

Doesn’t it bring a smile to my 2015 self hearing you say “only started about a thousand pages back”? 🤩

And why does the slapping of one’s knee denote a comedic event?

Well - wasn't this an exercise in tenacity? Would you believe in 22 minutes I found what we were looking for? Alas, doesn't this mean that our friend @Cat0703a may have to record her lovely laughter again?

Can I help it if the recording is no longer stored on that site? Don't you wish you'd heard the original like I did? Might you have to beg @Cat0703a to re- record her beautiful laughter?

Is the Zen expression "the sound of one hand clapping" a sign of a nonviolent philosophy?
