If that post caused the downfall of this thread, wouldn’t that make it the worst post ever?0

Wouldn’t it be even stranger of a story had I not changed out words to family-friendly alternatives in three different places? 😂

Do you think maybe there are so few questions being asked here now because they’re still reading that crazy long post from that other thread? 😆0

As an amateur novelist, is it wrong of me to draw inspiration for storylines from that thread/post?0

Is now when I should be finding a lawyer to set up a royalties in perpetuity agreement, @nossmf ? 🧐
Can't I guarantee you would spend more money on the lawyer than you would earn in royalties off my sorry writing "career"? Do you know how much profit I have made through the sale of 225 copies of my first novel? If you said more than $100, mind if I start laughing? Any guesses how long it'll be before I quit my day job and devote myself to writing full time? Mind keeping those guesses to yourself, so I don't break down in tears?1 -
Why does this remind me so much of my career in art?1

Are you telling me you earned less than $1 per copy you sold, @nossmf ? How is that not considered outright robbery?!

Why does this comment make me so sad? 😢 Was is hard to continue to find passion in making art when you counted on it to make a living, @AdahPotatah2024 ?0 -

While I likely would have made more through a traditional publisher, isn't it far harder to turn a profit when self-publishing and accepting all the costs of production which come with? Isn't this why I'm hoping to get my second book published traditionally (and possibly get a re-release of my first book through the same medium)?2 -

Could I answer with a yes and a no since I was completely burnt out by portrait photography, while I continue to love painting? Do you think the Habitat for Humanity will ever start refusing my boxes of donated paintings!?1 -
Haiku Hijinks, anyone?
Although I'm thinking
the answer is obvious,
what is the question?1 -

Aren't haiku poems supposed to include rhyming/ describing nature?0

Are you not aware haiku strictly speaks about the number of syllables per line of the poem, without restricting/recommending the content of the poem?1

While they are often about nature, can't they be about anything?
And isn't the requirement not that they rhyme, but that traditionally they be three lines consisting of 5 syllables, 7 syllables and 5 syllables?
Don't contemporary haiku often enough break even this rule regarding syllables?
Can you imagine the fun I had in my first programming class, being given an assignment to write a program that generated haiku from several lists of words? 😂0 -
Write about nature
If you wish.Poets do. But
Isn't that boring?2 -
Why,why haiku poets
Do you not include rhyming?
Frightened you'll go nuts? 🤪1 -
Would thinking of rhymes
with syllables on my mind
put me in a bind? 🤪1 -
AdahPotatah,
Why do you require rhyming?
Why not let it go?1 -
Mr. Nossmf,
Is not this a rebellion
Against poetry?
Do these poetries
Written in English sound worse
Than in Japanese???0
