It's the little things.

I know I can't be alone in this, but there are little things that keep me motivated. On a rainy Saturday, such as today (yes, I'm in Texas), when I know it could be tempting to binge on food that isn't good for me, I have a trick. I get up early, take a shower, and put on my workout clothes. Even if I don't plan on working out.
Being in the tight work out clothes feel good, and it keeps me conscious of my goal to be healthy. I make healthier choices when I pick out snacks or make myself lunch, and it keeps me from feeling slobbish and unmotivated.
What are some of the little things that you do to keep yourself motivated?

Since I love running, I sign up for a lot of road races. I enjoy doing them and having a goal in front of me encourages me to keep working to get better; it keeps me from slacking off on my exercise.0

When I was laid off from work over the winter, I would wear really tight shirts, which made me constantly suck in my tummy. It also made me feel pretty even though I had nowhere to go.0

I think there is some real truth to that trick. Feeling confident and pretty just for yourself is empowering, and makes you respect your body more and treat it with kindness.0

I think that's the reason I have kept up with this fitness regimen so well. It's all for me. I'm not doing it for a guy, or work, it's all for me.0 -

That's what is different for me now than 5 years ago. Five years ago, I was in my early twenties and just wanted to turn heads. Now, I want to do it for me. It's a much more rewarding journey.0 -
I do the same, although it doesn't always work.
Today I had a bad day (bad food choices) but instead of beating myself up about it, I'm just going to move on and do better tomorrow. I also found myself trying on a lot of the dresses I have in my wardrobe; they all fit, but it helps keep me motivated to know that when I will wear them this summer, they will fit even better and I won't have to worry about looking pregnant! Also, I have one dress that is particularly colourful and on dreary days like this one (we've had rain where I live too) I take all the brightness I can get.
