    Is your doctor broken?

Is there a walk in centre you can go to to get it looked at? It sounds like it might be your IT band but it is impossible to diagnose without seeing it and manipulating it. Make an appointment with your Dr tomorrow if you can't get seen today.

It just happened today :( My doctor is an endocrinologist for T1 diabetes and is expensive and requires months of waiting to be booked in... :( I just want to know if anyone else has had this problem and if it is serious. every dance class is precious to me :(

IT band? I've heard of that I think that's a tendon on the side of your leg isn't it?
You're allowed to see lots of different doctors aren't you, I guess going to my regular doctor would be pretty futile. now I think of it...
I think there is a physio in the city, I haven't been to a physiotherapist before but I think they deal with this sort of thing. I hope it doesn't cost too much... :(

Yeah, I might try to find a walk-in/urgent care center. They can X-Ray, maybe hook you up with an MRI to find out what's wrong, and get you a referral to a physical therapist if PT would help whatever problem you have. This is probably your fastest way to get help and get you dancing again.

On another note, you really should look into getting a general practicioner physician/primary care doctor. First, because an annual checkup is really important for spotting potential long-term health problems before they happen. Second, because you're gonna keep dancing, which means you'll keep getting hurt, which means you want someone to call for a PT referral each time. Third, because someday you're gonna come down with the flu or strep throat or a horrid stomach bug that requires prescription-strength anti-vomiting drugs, and you would REALLY rather make an appointment with a doctor you trust than spend 11 hours in the waiting room of an ER watching *gunshot* victims be told, "Take a seat; we'll get to you when we can."

Health is about so much more than nutrition and exercise.

I would definitely get yourself to an ER or urgent care for an X-ray and (possibly) an MRI. Knee injuries are no joke. I messed mine up in college, literally held it together with duct tape and didn't go to a doc. Now it dislocates whenever and wherever it feels like it and usually takes a tendon or muscle with it. I see a chiropractor and a physical therapist on the regular to help manage it now.
Don't be silly like I was, go see a doctor. And please get a primary care doctor, the good ones are worth their weight in gold.

    sigh.

urgent = not a question for a forum full of internet strangers.

you'd have better luck walking into walmart asking for help.

    Go see your damyumn doctor.

OP, you need to get to the doctor. There is no way for anyone here to diagnose your problem because there are just too many things that go wrong with knees.

Don't expect it to get better on its own and don't push yourself to do things that hurt. If you can't get to the doctor today, then RICE it until tomorrow.
