Not feeling Disney right now, my family is filled with Grinches!
That sucks. I noticed you're wearing an awesome Ariel shirt there, Kace. Hopefully things settle down by the time the fireworks start lighting up the skies.
Anyway, when my niece was about three or four, I figured out that one of the ways to get her out of a grouchy mood or end her tantrums was to make her laugh or divert her mind away from whatever it was she was mad or sad about -- and anything related to Little Mermaid would usually do the trick.
I kid you not, I once climbed up and sat on one of those fake Disney rocks with a spoon and started combing my hair with it, all while trying to sing "Part of Your World." It worked, but I had to "argue" with her about the spoon thing for a good hour or so afterwards. She claimed that Ariel used a fork (of course she did), I kept saying it was a spoon (of course I did), because I knew that in a few years I'd miss times and little interactions like those and the memories are all we were gonna have.
And I was right, cuz right now, at this exact moment, I'm getting all sad and shet. I miss when I used to be able to pull stuff like that on her. She's a few years older now and as far as Little Mermaid is concerned, I can no longer debate with her about the fork and the spoon thing, but I always tell her that Sebastian is a lobster.
She says he's a crab. Of course she would.

I hardly get to spend time with her these days but when I do, it's pretty damn awesome. She tries to annoy me and I pretend I'm annoyed, because she's a happy kid. And happy childhoods usually result in good, happy adulthoods (hopefully haha).

Kace, sorry if that was long and stuff, but I guess what I'm trying to say is, I hope someone there is crazy enough to jump on a fake Disney rock with a spoon for you!0

Awwwww you're the best uncle! I would pay good money to see you reenact that scene! Haha tell her it's not a fork, it's a dinglehopper! you'll be cool with her again in a few years, I feel like it's cyclical. I'm starting to be less cool with my nephew now, too.
Ah, no need to pay anyone anything. I've forgotten the lyrics but trust me, when my family blows up over silly reasons in a public setting (pretty often when we all get together) like Disneyland or whatever, it's not that hard to alleviate some of the tension by grabbing some random stranger's pretzel or cotton candy and immediately shoving all of it in my mouth.
