How harmful is overeating during periods?

I am on a weight loss journey. My periods have come for the first time ever since but I experienced a huge increase in appetite, eating more than maintenance and not being as active as i usually am. Also, i experience severe constipation, even though all the overeating was healthy food full of fiber and i drank a lot of water. How harmful would it be on the long term? Any tips to prevent this horrible thing to happen again?

I tend to overeat during my period and am rarely active during those days. I don't think it is too harmful... I usually gain about 5 pounds during period which tend to drop off immediately once period ends.0

It's calories in, calories out... you'll gain weight if you eat too much.
I wish I had a tip for you though, I'm ravenous the week before my period and typically eat enough to gain one pound that week.0
