I am a member of Curves. I had a lot of success losing weight/toning up with them back in 2004 but I wasn't a runner back then. My weight has slipped away from me again after having my 3 baby in 2010 and turning 40. So I'm back at Curves but I'm also training for a 1/2 marathon in October. I need some help developing a "schedule" of what to do in what days. Is it okay to do both on the same day? Should I do one in the morning the other in the evening? I'm a teacher on summer vacation and I WILL get control of this again and want to get into a routine I can maintain when school starts up again in Aug. Suggedtions appreicated. ~Christy

How many days a week are you running? I would alternate running days and resistance training days. I would also do yoga or a good stretch program a couple days a week. I like to do yoga on my rest day.

I'd like to maintain running 4-5 days. With a rest day too. So there will be some days where I would probably do both? If doing both in one day should I separate the workouts? I do not like yoga. My mind is not restful enough. Lol.

Can you run after you are done at curves? If so maybe you can make those days your shorter run days and then do your longer runs on days when that is your only workout.

And dont underestimate how important yoga, pilates and stretching can be for recovery and performance.

The curves workouts are what like 30 minutes long?

Normally I would say alternate days- but I don't suspect those workouts are so taxing you probably could totally do them same day if you needed to.

True they are not. More tone work.
