Getting back on it after gaining it back and more

So! Last year I was doing fairly well losing weight... not quickly but definitely improving. I went down from 11st 2 (I think?) to 10st 4 from July to September.
In September, I got a heavy cold/flu, that floored me for four days and left me with a cough. The cough did not go. Every time I exercised, I started coughing. In classes I felt I was a distraction, in the gym I felt gross and germy, so I stopped going to the gym, and stopped exercising. The cough remained, and I got breathless quickly when I exercised.
My weight stabilised at 10st 6 and remained at that right through the festive period. I was pleased about that!
In January I had a little bit of a traumatic time with my relationship. I wasn't weighing myself, but I was 10st 6 on 4 Jan. By the end of Jan I was 11st 2 again... all my work had been undone. I didn't feel that I was eating differently but clearly I was. In March, I got diagnosed with asthma, and also lost my job. I was pretty down about it and kind of holed up in my flat with the PS3 and played a lot of video games. The past few months seem to have been a bit of a blur... I'm back down to 11st4 from just trying to eat smaller meals, but it's about time I started meaning business again. My clothes don't fit and I don't have money to buy more so I need to knuckle down. I've really been using the fact that I lost control so quickly as a reason to beat myself up. I need to stop doing that. So anyway, I thought I'd come here and rant about it.
The other thing was, in January when I was eating what I wanted without thinking too hard about it, my IBS really improved. So it's kind of put me off eating healthier in a way, because 'healthy' recipes seem to have a tendency to make me feel bloated and ill. I'd rather be 11st and comfortable than 10st, bloated and in pain. Not sure quite what to do about that.

It sounds to me like you need to up your exercise levels if you haven't been in ther gym since september when you had a cough is it any wonder you have put the weight back on? People that have a good exercise routine can eat like kings, always remember you get out what you put in you may lose a few pounds here and there from diet alone but the real changes come from exercise and you can eat pretty much whatever you want as long as its not horrendously large portions of unhealthy food0

Damn straight I need to up my exercise levels. Trouble is, I arranged to go to the gym with my sister a few weeks ago and ended up having a full-on curled-up-in-a-sobbing-ball panic attack about it. Sounds a bit OTT? Don't worry, it felt like it too. But there it is. I can do stuff at home, anyway, but I don't enjoy it like I used to. It just makes me angry. So that's a problem that I'm currently lacking an approach to.0

The only thing I need to motivate me is too look at my naked body in the full glare of the morning sun if I don't like that I see its enough to get my butt into high gear throw some headphones on get outside until you start to enjoy it, all the time you put barriers in your way as an excuse not to exercise you will carry on the cycle of misery, as soon as you start seeing results the anger will turn to happiness0

Take small steps for exercising again. You definitely are in the right mindset and have good goals. But ease yourself back into it. You didn't gain it back over night! I completely can relate to beating yourself up and not liking yourself. In time, it'll get easier. But YOU can do this. Thanks for sharing your story!!0
