Hello everyone, I'm new to this app and the fitness world but I've decided to take a break from the copious amounts of pizza I have consumed in my lifetime and try to lose a few pounds. If anyone has any advice on what to eat and how to maintain a healthy lifestyle please feel free to share. Also I'm really friendly and open to making new friends. Add me if you want :)

Eat whatever you want, just stay at your calorie deficit. There's really no magic formula or no "bad" foods, it's all a matter of how much you consume versus how much you burn off with exercise and daily living. If you've put your stats into MFP, follow your daily calorie regimen. Also, don't expect a lot of weight loss fast, and do expect for it to slow down at times...this is normal. Approximately 0.5 - 1 pounds of weight loss per week is pretty reasonable, unless you have a lot to lose. So keep eating the pizza, don't deprive yourself, just fit it into your calorie goal for the day. Don't starve yourself either, that solves nothing.

@Equus5374 thank you, that's very helpful! Nice to know I don't totally have to give up my favorite food haha

Yes it does matter what you eat. Save pizza for a treat meal. Eat lots of Veges with proteins and a little fat. Work out what your calories for a day are and stay in that frame. If you add exercise, then eat half of the calories burnt, that way you stay full and still have a calorie deficit which means you lose weight.

@marky1965 thanks I'll definitely pay more attention to what I eat each day and this app does a wonderful job of helping me not exceed my calorie intake. I'm currently 142lbs and would like to get back down to 130-135lbs by August.

That's definitely doable, say it's 8lbs you want to lose so that works out at a lb a week. Just put the weight of 132lb in as the target weight and that should give you calories. You will do it easy.
