Hey everybody, just wanted to start a discussion to get some motivation and new ideas for staying active outside. I'm a 20-something, 6'0" 250 lb Missouri native who loves to get outside and hike, backpack, camp, kayak, fish, and anything else you can think of. I've been off and on with MFP for years but I'm really hoping to find some new consistency and dedication with the support of fellow members and friends. Thanks guys!

I grew up in Missouri! I miss hiking in the Ozarks SO much.

Have you thought about training to hike or ride the Katy Trail across the state (camping along the way, obviously)? That would give you an end goal that might help you stay focused on shorter treks.

Also, if you want to spend time outside, you really might want to see about biking. With your outdoor experience you might even get into serious bike touring (where you carry everything with you and camp).
