Squat challenge Q

I'm sure this has been asked before but in regards to the 30 day squat challenge, can you do sets throughout the day to get to the goal number or is the key to do that many in a row? (depending on what day you're on for the amount obviously). I have been doing ten squats each time I go into the bathroom at work (I drink about 3 - 4 liters of water/day so I'm in there a lot!). I'm wondering if I'm doing it wrong. For instance, if my goal is to complete day 1 @ 50 squats do I do 50 squats consecutively or are my sets of 10 until I reach 50, ok?
