Lifting Weights and Losing (Weight)

I lift weights and do cardio and I watch what I eat. I know muscle takes up less space than fat. So someone who is 200 lbs who lifts can look thinner than someone at 170-180 who doesn't lift. My question is that if I continue to do my lift/cardio combo, will the scale continue to drop closer to my lean body mass or will I stay the same weight on the scale, but look thinner? I'm 5'3" and currently weigh a little over 200. I know the scale doesn't matter as much, but I'd prefer not to be 200 lbs of muscle. Hope this makes sense and thanks in advance!

Generally speaking, you lift while in a calorie deficit to maintain as much muscle as possible. You might see some strength gains, but muscle gain will be pretty much non-existent.

If you are eating at a caloric deficit, you will continue to lose overall weight.

The main reason for lifting while losing is to keep LBM...but you will see the scale move as you lose fat...

It might not be as fast due to water retention etc but it will move.

I've lost over 50lbs while lifting heavy hardly any cardio and eating at a deficit...

no worries you won't be 200lbs and all muscle...we actually need to keep some of the fat we have to be healthy...

If you're in a calorie deficit, you'll lose weight.
