Doesnt kill me to get a gym membership if needed but it would be so much cheaper just having a free weight set at home. Is gym necessary? Im not looking to build myself too much, just keeping myself in shape.

I got a power cage last year and I consider it a great investment. I am able to do all the exercises I like. The only things I occasionally miss are dumbbells and bumper plates. Total investment was a little under $2000 iirc.

I have cobbled together a set of equipment at home, piece by piece. I workout at home 90% of the time. I only go to the gym for a change of scenery or if I decide I want to use a piece of equipment that I don't have at home.

I much prefer working out at home. If you have the space for a rack, barbell and bench then go for it.

If you have the space do it! I have been a member to just about every gym in the area and would never go back now that I have my home gym. So much more convenient. Look on Craigslist and garage sales. I picked up a sweet Olympic barbell, weights and bench for $50 and most of the other pieces I've bought through Amazon. In the long run it is more cost effective to have it at home.

I'd love to have this at home.

i compiled everything for a home gym, and never use it. Workout out at home always seems great , until it doesn't ever happen.
