I am new to this, but not new to weightloss programs. I just canceled Weight Watchers..before than Atkins, before that Medi-Weight Loss, before than Paleo, etc.

Nothing has worked. I am also a bit concerned about all of the pop up's and advertisements coming onto my account when I was entering todays meals. Can anyone help me eliminate these advertisements??

I hope this works. I have around 60 pounds to loose..and am so discouraged...

Honestly, once you get used to the ad minefield that is the free version of MyFitnessPal, it becomes the best thing ever. It's all about the fundamentals. If you want to follow a particular diet in conjunction with calorie counting, that's fine if it works for you, but if your calories consumed are less than your calories burned, you will lose. It's just a matter of finding out your "calories in" number, and, if you feel like it, bumping up your "calories out" with exercise, which is optional.

Install AdBlockPlus for whatever browser you're using. If you install and configure it properly, the ads will all disappear. https://adblockplus.org/

Skepticism is a good sign, actually. People who think critically instead of just jumping onto the next fad bandwagon tend to be the people who can lose and keep it off, from what I've seen. Start by looking at your history: why did those attempts not work for you? Don't get sidetracked by guilt or other emotions. Be clinical. Pretend it's someone else, or pretend you're a scientist or something. Analyze what failed, because if you don't know that, how can you change your approach to one that will succeed?

I've lost 70 pounds using a very simple approach: I keep a reasonable calorie deficit (eating fewer calories than I burn). I track my food accurately. I get exercise in ways I enjoy. I'm patient, and I don't get discouraged and quit if my progress slows down for a week, or if I have a bad day. That's it. That's really all it takes.
