Need ideas for summer fitness goals

A bit of background: Overweight my whole life and hated exercise. Joined MFP last April, started walking in May, started jogging in the fall and couch to 5K in January. Ran my first 5K 5 days ago. I've lost 80+ pounds, and have probably 40 more to go until something near my goal weight. So almost that whole time the idea of being able to run that far seemed impossible, until I did it. Granted, my time can improve (I ran it in 37:30). And my buddies are urging me to do another 5K and another and another... so one goal for my summer is to run faster and probably run at least one more 5K race.

But I need some ideas for building muscle. I don't have access to a gym, but I have some hand weights and an adjustable kettlebell.

I was thinking of alternating running with ..... that is just the thing. I need a goal. C25K had a goal, a way to know when I did it. I thought about doing extensive measurements at the beginning of summer and at the end, b/c at least the change in size would be evidence that I accomplished something. I thought about having a goal as far as number of hours, but that doesn't seem to work either.

Does anyone else have benchmarks or goals that they work toward that aren't distance/running/time related?
