I'm NOT going to eat junk now because I'm stressed and can't sleep.

Good evening night owls, I wanted to say ("out loud" - to hold myself to it better) that even though I am stressed and a bit insomniac right now, I am going to resist the temptation to eat everything in sight right now. I was hungry and under my calories for the day so I had some cherries instead of eating the rest of a frozen flatbread I had for dinner or digging into the unopened bag of chocolate chips I bought to bake with later this week, even though I would just love to scarf both now. I'm realizing that I'm not physically hungry now so I'm just having a cup of unsweetened herbal tea, if I get really hungry later I may have some grapefruit (would be digging into my exercise calories from today) but not going to go wild here. I'm trying to fall asleep and watching
Anyway, sorry for the rant. I've been so hangry (not actually so hungry but craving anything calorific) today, and eating at night and when I'm stressed is probably my worst habit, so resisting now is a big deal to me!

That's why I sleep early and wake up early (not a night owl, it's 9.43 am here).
Anyways, stay strong. You know you are not really hungry, just bored probably. If you weren't about to sleep I would have suggested drinking some water.0 -
Hmm. Hubby says most night food cravings are due to dehydration. I don't totally buy that but I do have stuff I keep in the fridge just for magic moments when I think I'm gonna die if I don't get something. Things I only eat then. My favs are key lime pie light yogurt and I freeze those yogurt sticks they sell for kids. I also find that low sugar sorbets in individual servings help as do broccoli and cheese steam in the bag veggies. Most of it I can eat for about 100 cals and since I do weekly instead of daily cals (I don't splurge everyday by any means) it works out.

Always tough if you can't sleep, brings out the binge monkeys, especially if you are stressed. I brush my teeth and keep drinking lots of water to keep me sane at such times0
