I am not familiar with those stores. We don't have them in Canada. But a simple tip is that you don't have to eat diet foods to eat at a deficit.
- pick vegetables and fruit in season and on sale
- Have frozen veggies on hand
- Cook from scratch. A single roast chicken can serve several meals.
- Oatmeal is inexpensive.
- Dried rice, legumes, beans are cheap and filling
- Treats are often the most expensive with the least nutritional value. Pop your own popcorn. Have crackers on hand and use ziplocks to make your own snack packs.0 -
I find that cooking stuff myself is less expensive than buying processed food in a can.0

Eating less has saved me money, not cost more. No special gimmick foods are needed, just eat healthy food and eat less of it.0

Buying fresh produce is more costly than buying junk, but the amount I'm saving by not eating out as often and drinking more water a fewer purchased drinks out has more than balanced it out.
I would suggest stocking up on staples when they are on sale and then storing/freezing them in one serving portions.0
