How do you cook skirt steak?

I need tips on how to grill skirt steak please. I have tried many times and I fail to get medium inside and a sear on the outside. I usually grill on high heat for 3 to 4 minutes aside. I get color or sear on one side, none on the other side, and the interior is well not pink. Any master grillers out there that can help?
