Milk and Cereal...

Just wondering what you guys did or if I am wanting to save calories. If you have milk left over in the bowl that you didn't eat with your cereal, do you measure it, put it down the sink and add some of your calories back??

I drink it straight out of the bowl, pinky out because I am a lady0

Oh, you so funny. It all depends on if I am full or not. I pay if I don't eat enough calories at breakfast, with big hunger mid-day. I don't skimp on breakfast. I prefer greek yogurt over milk these days because of the extra protein. I also like to have a walnut (two halves).0

I don't eat a lot of cereal, but when I have muesli, I always drink the milk.0

Contrary to the way I used to eat cereal, I only have just enough milk now. Usually, the cereal part of my pre-workout meal is 70 grams of Lucky Charms with 140 grams of whole milk.0

I have skimmed milk. Which is hardly any calories. So I just slurp it down like a bearded man chugging his flaggon of ale. Waste not want not!0

This, if I were to have cereal (but cereal typically leaves me ravenous, so I don't so much anymore). I would figure out the weight of the cereal and the measured amount of milk that is just right, and portion that out each time.
(Also, I dislike cereal milk for drinking, so avoiding extra milk would be my go-to. If you like it, drink it, you already logged it, it's your food to consume!)0 -

This!
It's the only thing to do in that scenario.0 -
I have milk and cereal as my "dessert" course sometimes, when I have 200 calories in the green. In a tiny cup, with a weight out 31g of golden grahams and 1/2 cup of whole milk. I drink the leftover milk.0

There are actually people who would throw milk away because they ran out of cereal?
If I were to follow my grandmother's example, leftover milk is just a reason to add more cereal to the bowl. But no, I finish it off. And I drink the good ol' whole milk.0 -
Thanks for the input.. I chugged it like a champ!!0
-
Honestly, I usually add more cereal to go with the leftover milk.0

I drink it out of the bowl. It's not a lot because I'm pretty good about creating an equal milk:cereal ratio.0

I consume the milk. Usually there isn't much left. I already logged it so I'd have to measure it and go change my diary entry to reduce my calories by a minor amount when I don't need to.0

Gah - I hate leaving nicely flavored milk behind. I drink it, along with the extra calories. To be fair, I have gotten better about knowing how much milk to put in so that I'm not consuming too much, so there's a lot less milk left over now than there used to be.

You can't beat slurping the rest of the milk after a bowl of Coco Pops!0
-
1 cup of corn flakes (or puffed rice/wheat) and 1/2 cup of WHOLE milk almost every night before bed. (unless I have more calories to spare, then I double it) If it isn't whole milk, it isn't worth consuming!0

I eat it all except for one tablespoon and a piece or two of cereal. That goes to the cute little dog who sits patiently waiting while I eat. I don't weigh or measure that. before she gets it.0

I measure out what the recommended serving for the cereal and milk is on the box and nothing more. That way, there's no "leftover" to worry about since it's been measured and accounted for. I measure my daughter's out as well, to start teaching her proper servings.0

I put extra milk in my coco puffs, so that when I am done with my cereal I have a wonderful bowl of chocolate milk waiting to be drank.
ETA: To properly answer the question, it gets measured0 -
Totally drink the sugar flavored milk!0
-
I don't measure that meticulously. BUT I will say.....that I love to have extra milk, so I have plenty of milk with every bite, even the last....and I have never in my life drank the left over milk...0
-
I always drink the milk. I usually get the ratio pretty spot-on.0
-
I always drink the leftover milk. I don't really like milk but when it's lightly sweetened from the cereal, it's just too good to waste!0
-
I could never drink milk on its own but if it's leftover from cereal...
Actually I used to add more cereal AND milk if there was some milk left.
(The only other way I could drink milk was if it had some leftover oreo crumbs in it from the dunking.)0 -

You can always save it and add it to a smoothie later in the day. I never have milk left in my bowl. I use only enough milk to wet down the cereal, so I can swallow it.0
