BMR calculation confusion

I am so confused. I have been trying to calculate my BMR, as I have read that it's not healthy to eat below that. I tried to change my lifestyle to a healthier one about a year ago, but since I ended up eating too little and exercising too much, I lost a lot of muscle tone and ended up looking very emaciated after a few months. I moved and got into some unhealthy habits. I'm starting it up again, and I want to end up toned, not skeletal.
I am 5'4", roughly 135 pounds, and I bike four miles every morning on a hilly path. I bike about a 5-minute mile both ways. I also work with toddlers, so it's not like I have a desk job. I've plugged in my info to about half a dozen websites to calculate my BMR and I've got wildly different answers from 1300 calories to over 2000 calories. MFP has my set at about 1450 calories, but I definitely want to eat more than that if that's what my BMR is.
