High Saturated Fat in Coconut Oil - Should I still Use it?

So I want to start incorporating coconut oil in my diet but it has such a high saturated fat content - enough to fill my full day's worth of saturated fat. So if it's supposedly so beneficial for us, isn't the saturated fat bad?

I can't find any literature on this issue, if anyone has some input it is greatly appreciated! thanks!

From what I understand, the main saturated fat in coconut oil is lauric acid, which is a medium chain fatty acid and actually increases your HDL levels, so it's a good saturated fat.

Yes it is good saturated fat. Which tends to confuse people. Coconut oil is also one of the best oils to fry in because it is stable at high temps and doesn't break down into trans fats. Other good frying fats are butter and lard. But coconut oil is better for you nutritionally. And tastes good.

Don't fear saturated fat. Everything in moderation.

Look for unrefined virgin expeller-pressed coconut oil. That one is the most natural and has the best flavor. The downside is that it burns at the same rate as butter. But there are dozens of upsides.
