Resistance training is going really well, but...

Hello all, hope you're well  Quick question: I am a 19-nearly-20 year old female student nurse, who has not long started resistance training in addition to my running and some gym classes. I tend to superset upper and lower exercises as well as abs to try (in my amateur manner) to hit most body parts. Lower really consists of alternating lunges and squats using heavy (or challenging for me) kettlebells. I go to the gym more or less every day, occasionally more and try to train weights each time. I am also pretty active generally. I have been really chuffed with my progress, and to a large extent my results. I am progressing really fast, getting in good shape and feeling way better. I've got a few queries though:
- My legs are looking really toned, but I've noticed that they've also chunked up a bit. Around the knee joint they seem to be a bit thicker, and generally they are just a little bigger. I've been told so many times this is not possible, or very difficult in such a short time frame. How can I slim them down a little? I'm thrilled to have them in such good shape already but I'm not very big so I feel like they might be a bit out of proportion. Do I just need to keep losing fat or is there another way to train and make them slimmer? I found long distance running really works and I love it, but nowhere near as muscular. Can I combine them? Would be grateful for any pointers!
- My weight has gone up a lot too. Granted the healthy eating has been a bit slacker recently, but is it true that one would expect ladies who lift weights not to be able to get to the lower weights? I don't feel bad about the weight gain as I'm assuming it's mainly die to starting this kind of training and I don't feel like I look especially bad. My ideal weight is slap bang on the dot of 120lbs, but would that change with the gain of muscle mass?
Thank you all. Thank you for being patient with my wittering, it is all very new to me! :)
