Questions about yoga and lifting

Hi guys, so I'm currently doing a yoga challenge. I'm doing 1 hour of yoga for 7 days and then I'm going to do 30 mins of yoga for 30 days. I really want to increase my flexibility, so I am making this yoga challenge my priority. However I still want to get started my lifting because I know it can do great things for my body. So my question is should I start a lifting routine the same time I start my yoga challenge? I'm only on day 2 of the yoga challenge, but it's every day. I have lifted before, but it's been very on/off and I haven't ever followed a routine before. I was thinking of doing strong lifts or strong curves. I have really like 10 pounds left, maybe 15 to get to my goal weight and I want to make sure I don't look skinny fat.

Is it ok to lift for 3 days a week and do 30 mins of yoga everyday? Would that be too much? Or should I just focus on the yoga challenge for now? Thanks!

depending on what kind of yoga you are doing, I think it is a great compliment to any workout program. You should be able to add in lifting to your routine with no problem.

This. I've often done yoga on my rest days. Not knocking yoga, bc i think it's awesome, but I don't even count it as exercise. You won't be overtraining by doing lifting and yoga on the same day.

Depends on what kind of yoga. When I do the strength type yoga classes (foundations, flow, baptiste) it can leave me more stiff/sore the next couple days than my weight training (I'm finally working my way up to weights that are making me work, doing stronglifts).
Since I am without a squat rack (which is kinda needed for the program I'm doing) for the time being (which means I can't add much more weight to my lifts) I have decided to do 2 days weights and 1 day yoga that way I can have rest days in between.
If you are doing more relaxing/stretching yoga then I don't think it should be any issue.

I am doing yoga for complete beginners. https://youtube.com/watch?v=v7AYKMP6rOE

I do those two everyday so 60 mins of complete beginner yoga. I am doing them both because the 20 min video didn't feel like much of a workout.

After the 7 days pass I am going to be doing a 30 min yoga workout, which I assume will be a little bit harder than the complete beginner yoga.

3 days lifting and 30 min yoga 6 days a week is a sound plan of attack.
