so I just started this. I've actually been on here on this account for almost a year. I just started 10 days ago. I thought I was doing good but I am a bit confused about how to track my calories. So that is discouraging me, therefore I exercise like mad craziness. I am still not confident that even the amount of exercise that I do is enough even if my calorie count is below what I'm supposed to have.

Relax and be patient. That stress will hold back weight loss and it could cause you to stumble.

before you start id suggest you spend some time learning about weight loss and understanding what it is you have to do and why. You cna pick up some good basics from this thread.

You need to log and weigh all your food so you have confidence you are at a consistent deficit. Focus on what you eat and dont worry about exercise for weight loss, it helps but your priority is being able to control the amount you consume.

When you are ready to exercise, start off at whatever level you are and do a mixture of cardio and resistance training. If you are using MFP to calculate burns then only eatvack 50% of calories as its been known to overestimate burns.

You can either find a listing already made, import one yourself or use the scanner to track them. Everyone always talks about weighing food to get a better idea of how much you are actually eating. Good job on the exercise. It takes time. What are you eating around? Maybe not getting enough. I know MFP starts people at 1200 which can be pretty unrealistic. Have you looked up your TDEE to get a better idea of how much you should be consuming?

Log everything you eat and don't eat back all your exercise calories, as it's way off. Through trial and error, you will find the sweet spot for the calories deficit you need in order to lose the weekly amount of weight you wish. Good luck to you! :)

today I overate just because I felt like it. But usually I don't eat any more than 1800 calories. MFP starts me at 1440. If I eat right then I can stay at or below 1440but I exercise 1 to 2 hours every day. but I worry that it might not be enough exercise or maybe I'm still eating too much. I think I might just need support with being patient with myself and understanding that this is a lifetime journey not a momentary journey
